"The Duce had always professed sound, realistic ideas. Through his mouth, fascism opposed class struggle, founded social classes into a single economic and moral reality. He opted for quality against quantity; he repressed the democratic dogma which assimilated the people to the greatest number of individuals and lowered it to that level. Instead of deceiving the voter by granting illusory rights, he helped him to fulfill a duty. He said that abstract freedom did not exist, but that precious liberties must be preserved. He affirmed the irremediable but beneficial and fertile inequality of men who can not become equal by a mechanical and extrinsic fact such as universal suffrage. Fascism, above all, restored and exalted civism by persuading the simplest worker that he worked for the prosperity and the greatness of the indivisible nation."
