Officers are confronted frequently with child abuse, pornography, and (non-native)terrorism — all of which take a tremendous toll, especially as they feel more and more resentment from those they seek to protect.
“The more tensions rise in society, the more we are called upon, often in violent contexts,” notes Ramos.
What he doesn't say, and I understand why he doesn't say it publicly, is that guilt also contributes to this number of suicides. Both the police officers and the military personnel who committed suicide know that by serving the democratic political class that precisely commits and/or supports and/or facilitates all these anti-national criminal activities - and many others -, they are betraying their people, their Nation, and themselves.
