This is the ETERNAL problem of democracies. Democratic Parties pursue their own superior interests, often - sometimes always - contrary to the superior interests of the Nation. There are no true Statesmen. Only professional democratic politician$; most of them incompetent, treacherous, many of them downright stupid, and many others eternally blackmailed by the images of their own pedophilia acts recorded by Mossad.
The best interests of the Nation in the short, medium, and even more longer term are never safeguarded through a democratic regime.
If the family is the basic unit of society, and if young people have increasingly less conditions to start a family, what is the purpose of democracy as a form of government to manage society? Clearly, it doesn't work.
A Radical Nationalist military coup in the US and Portugal would have God's full approval. They could even do it together in an ideological-military alliance.
