"The Failure of Liberal-Individualism
Individualism has been a boon to the west in many ways, but it has always failed to address the duality of the relationship between the individual and group.
Man is a social creature, and we all exist as a part of a group in some form or another, be it a family, a friendship, as a partner or lover.
We depend on these groups, just as the group depends on its members, in a cyclical relationship that cannot be broken without consequence. We depend on others, just as they depend on us, and so any evils we visit out on our group will in turn come back to us in one form or another.
In this respect the group is like a body, with the individuals being the organs; Each organ is vital, and all must be protected, but to kill the body to protect the heart or brain is as futile as killing the lungs to save the body.
We must respect the individual, but to hold the individual above all else is an inherent contradiction, for there is no one who truly exists alone; we are all brothers-in-arms in the struggle to survive.
We must re-establish the homeostasis of society, and bring balance back to the dichotomy of the individual and the group."
