Historic referendum in Switzerland: 73% approve permanent protection of physical cash.
Switzerland has decided, through a referendum, to constitutionally guarantee that physical cash will always remain available in the country.
Switzerland has decided, through a referendum, to constitutionally guarantee that physical cash will always be available in the country. The proposal was approved with overwhelming support: 73% of voters voted in favor of ensuring that state authorities must permanently guarantee the existence of Swiss franc coins and banknotes, preventing them from being replaced by exclusively virtual forms of payment.
The result of the vote means that this guarantee will be enshrined in the Swiss Constitution, reinforcing the status of physical money at a time when several countries are debating the increasing digitalization of monetary systems.
This ensures both individual freedom and the privacy of citizens, as well as the right to anonymity.
The Swiss people have thus shown the world great political maturity and a great political awareness of the dangers of Orwellian totalitarianism, which many democratic politicians want to use to enslave citizens even further.
Now we will see which nations will follow this fine example, as it is also an excellent way to assess the quality of the different peoples.
For only the most mediocre peoples are willing to voluntarily become slaves in their own land.
