"Take the current situation with COVID19. God did not do this to us. God didn't open our borders. God didn't make us dependent on China. God didn't force us to eat crap food, that weakens our immune systems. God didn't force us to live packed in like sardines in a metropolis.
These are all choices that we have made, either personally or collectively. The aggregated consequences of those choices has been a pandemic. This is simply the law of karma. Once you set actions in motions, they must play out. This spiritual law is inflexible and impartial.

God gives us free will, but with that also comes responsibility for the consequences of our actions.
God does give us means by which we would minimise or avoid bad consequences and we can do so by following dharma, logos, the law from above, whatever you want to call it. But if we choose to subvert the eternal natural order, then we will suffer.

Saying that God should intervene and suspend the law of karma is like saying God should change the law of gravity because you decided to jump off a cliff and changed your mind halfway down.

If we want to be spared from terrible things happening in the world, then collectively, we all need to make a better effort to live in line with the will of God. If we choose not to play by God's rules, we don't really have any right to cry about it when it doesn't work out."
